SharePoint Integration for Law Firms

Sync client documents to your Microsoft 365 tenant

Quilia's SharePoint integration automatically syncs client-uploaded documents to the SharePoint site your firm already uses. Photos, medical records, and signed documents land in your own Microsoft 365 tenant — under your existing IT policies, retention rules, and access controls.

Real-time sync

How Does Quilia's SharePoint Sync Work?

Connect Quilia to your Microsoft 365 tenant once, and every document uploaded through Quilia — by clients, staff, or automations — flows into the SharePoint document library you choose. No manual downloads, no extra steps for your team. Launched in portal v2026.4.0 — see the April 15 release notes.

Because the documents live in your own tenant, they stay governed by the policies your IT team already runs: conditional access, retention, DLP, eDiscovery, and the sharing rules you've already configured for the rest of the firm.

The SharePoint integration works alongside your CMS integration with Clio, Filevine, or MyCase. Case data flows to your case management system while documents land in SharePoint — exactly where your firm expects to find them.

Key Features of Quilia's SharePoint Integration

  • Real-time sync — Documents appear in SharePoint as soon as clients upload them
  • Your tenant, your rules — Files live inside your Microsoft 365 tenant under your existing compliance and retention policies
  • Case-based organization — Libraries and folders are created automatically per case
  • CMS compatible — Works alongside Clio, Filevine, MyCase, and other integrations
  • Enterprise authentication — Signs in through Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) with OAuth 2.0 — no credentials stored by Quilia
  • Familiar collaboration — Share and co-author case documents using the SharePoint and Microsoft 365 tools your firm already uses

What Can You Do With SharePoint Integration?

Automatic Document Sync

Every document uploaded through Quilia syncs to SharePoint instantly. Your team sees the same files in both places, with no manual export.

Stays in Your Tenant

Documents land inside your own Microsoft 365 tenant, so they inherit your firm's compliance, retention, and DLP policies — the same ones IT already audits.

Organized by Case

Each case gets its own folder structure inside the SharePoint site you choose. Map it to your firm's existing matter organization so nothing has to change for your staff.

Microsoft 365 Collaboration

Co-author in Word, mark up PDFs, and share case folders using the Microsoft 365 tools your team already lives in — no new sharing model for anyone to learn.

Transform Your Legal Practice with our Integration

SharePoint Integration FAQs

Common questions about using Quilia with Microsoft SharePoint

How does the SharePoint integration work with Quilia?

Connect Quilia to your Microsoft 365 tenant through Microsoft Entra ID (OAuth), and every document uploaded through Quilia is synced to the SharePoint document library you choose. Your staff sees the same files in both places, and your team keeps using the SharePoint tools they already know.

Where do the documents actually live?

Inside your own Microsoft 365 tenant. Quilia writes files into the SharePoint site and library you select, so documents inherit your firm’s retention, DLP, conditional access, and eDiscovery policies — the same policies IT already audits for the rest of your Microsoft 365 data.

Do I need a special SharePoint plan?

Any Microsoft 365 plan that includes SharePoint Online works (Business Standard, Business Premium, E1, E3, E5, etc.). You’ll need an administrator to authorize the Quilia app in your tenant once during setup.

How is authentication handled? Does Quilia store my credentials?

No. Sign-in happens through Microsoft Entra ID using OAuth 2.0, so Quilia never sees or stores your Microsoft 365 password. Your IT admin can revoke Quilia’s access at any time from the Microsoft 365 admin center.

How are case documents organized in SharePoint?

Each case gets its own folder inside the SharePoint site you choose, so your staff can map it to your firm’s existing matter organization. Documents are sorted into sub-folders by type (intake, medical records, signed documents, etc.) based on how they were uploaded in Quilia.

Can I use SharePoint alongside a CMS like Clio or Filevine?

Yes. The SharePoint integration runs alongside your CMS integration. Case metadata continues to flow into Clio, Filevine, MyCase, or whichever case management system you use, while documents land in SharePoint.

What cloud storage integrations does Quilia support?

Quilia supports Dropbox and Microsoft SharePoint for cloud storage sync today. Google Drive and OneDrive integrations are coming soon. These storage integrations work alongside your CMS integration to give you complete control over where your documents live.

Do I need a cloud storage integration?

No, cloud storage integrations are optional. Documents uploaded through Quilia are always stored securely in Quilia itself and synced to your CMS. The cloud storage integration is for firms who want additional backup or prefer accessing documents through their existing cloud storage workflow.

Can I use multiple cloud storage providers?

Currently, you can connect one cloud storage provider at a time. We recommend choosing the provider your firm already uses for the smoothest experience.

What happens if my cloud storage is full?

If your cloud storage reaches its limit, Quilia will notify you and documents will continue to be stored in Quilia itself. You won't lose any files—they just won't sync to cloud storage until you free up space or upgrade your storage plan.
